Our second holiday season in Uganda has been made sweeter for us by visitors from home.  We are far removed here from the cold, snowy weather we anticipate and celebrate in our Christmas songs, and even more so the family and friends that fill our holiday memories.  To put it another way, we are more aware during this time of the year of how far we are from the place (and mostly the people) we call home.  Sharing our Thanksgiving with the Andersons and Christmas with the Stockmans has been meaningful because of the distance they traveled to experience life with us here in Uganda while allowing us to reconnect to our relationships there in America .  Their presence allowed our family to live and enjoy more fully the different communities we now belong to.  They allowed us to have home for the holidays.

Be sure to check out the Stockman’s Blog for almost instantaneous pictures and reflections of their time here.  I’ve often told Sean that his family is the most well documented family that I know in addition to being one of the most fun.

Lori’s reflections from her latest post on what makes our holidays meaningful is our wish for you: Seasons Greetings to each and every one of you! As we enjoy our traditions, new and old, may we most especially rejoice in the miraculous event that gives us a reason to celebrate!
